for my house photo i chose to put a photograph of landscape in it. Because it had so much going on on the inside i felt that taking a photo of a person wouldnt look right in it. This picture is of a lake and i felt had a sort of mysterious l0ok to it because of the trees in the distance. The objects in the photo are the trees with leaves that really stood out to me because of the bright color, and the branch going across the bottom of the photo. I liked that i was able to have trees both close up and in the distance because it gave a better mysterious look to it. I adjusted a few things with photoshop because my original picture looked a bit uneven because of the way the lake was made and i was able to straighten it.

MOPA SHOT
for my mopa shot i chose to take a picture of a child. most of my pictures of people are more around my age and in order to get the message of the photo out i used my godsister to do this. My photo reflected dia de los muertos and in the photo my model Izamar is praying to her grandfather who had passed away. This also reveals that the mexican cultures religion is typically catholic which is why i chose to put a picture of jesus christ in the background. To focus more on Izamar and the people in the photos i used photoshop to highlight the faces of my model the face of her grandfather and the face of jesus christ.

Senior Exhibition
For my senior exhibition i took a series of photos with a theme of crime scenes. I did this because many people would not think of doing photos like these. My purpose was more to portray a sense of honesty of events that occur to many people. I chose to put my models in different locations so that each picture can have a story behind it that viewers can figure out or guess on their own what might have occured. In a few of my photos i chose to not put actual people in them because in real crime scenes thats not what its all about. I chose to use blood stains and even a close up of a body part to make it look as though a real crime scene photographer had taken these. Overall i was satisfied with the outcome of all of my pictures because they were able to portray the message i was trying to show.

These photos were originally taken to put into my book but did not end up being in it because it did not go with the others i had put. The theme of these pictures is suppose to show what emotions we feel as humans. These two photos are opposite the first shows happiness and joy and excitement as opposed to the second photo which looks worried, dissappointed or unhappy. I chose to make the first picture in color because thats what fit it best because of the emotion she is feeling. The colors in the first photo are very bright as well as what Alexis in the first photo is feeling. In the second photo i chose to make it black and white to show the darker days we have.

Location Photo
Reflection: For my location photo I used ashley as my model. Her location was in the back of the school where most of the junk is placed. I took a few close up and far away and liked both. In the pictures taken far way you notice ashleys flexibility. In this one, i used the flat screen to apply more light to her face so it wouldnt just look like an ordinary snapshot. The objects in this photo are the rope that was tied on to the gate so that Ashley can hang from it, the gate to represent the weird location,

senior ex cultural murals
For my senior exhibition i chose to do cultural street art. My inspiration was the photographer Estevan Oriol and i chose to make my photos similar to his ideas. His photos were taken outdoor which was were all of mine were taken. Like his photos i also chose to make mine both black and white and in color. Though it was all just street art my portfolio is based on culture.
My third photo was taken at Chicano park and the mural was on a wall. The objects in this photo are the mural which consists of Aztec men a skeleton chains and cactus which kind of reflects the Mexican history. Outside of the mural is the grass and the cactus on the side of the picture i chose to keep this part because it blends in with the picture. This photo has different themes which was part of the reason i took it. It was taken with a point and shoot camera so i had to work with it a lot in photoshop. I kept this photo in color because it had many different colors that you could find on a color wheel which made the photo look abstract and creative.
My next photo was also taken outdoors but downtown outside of a tattoo place. Part of my portfolio reflects street art and i feel that graffiti can be an art. The black and white photos i have had to be printed because i took them with a different camera. I feel that my black and white photos come out very succesful when it comes to contrast the lighting with this and my original photo came out very well. This photo focuses mainly on graffiti but also has objects.
I felt this photo was one of the most meaningful of all my pictures because it is kind of the story of life. There are many objects in this photo. The photo includes a pland a fetus and two people. The background has two other images but the one closest is the most appealing. I also chose to keep the trees in the distance because it was taken in chicano park. This photo i worked most with photoshop where i was able to remove cars as well as stray parts of the trees. I was also able to brighten the image then use the burning tool so parts of the image did not disappear.
Above is my original senior exhibition shot which i would want to include in my portfolio because it was one of my strongest pictures. I kept this picture because it has a lot of meaning behind it which i tried to also do with my other photos in my portfolio.
In my first photo above I had taken this photo on a building. The objects in this photo are the mural which if your able to look closely a sort of cottage in the background and a river with three slaves. I felt this photo did a very good job at expressing the culture i was aiming for. I chose to keep this photo in color because it gives a better mood. I also liked that this photo reflected African American history. The trees and the cottage or house in the background give different shapes to the photo and i left the window at the bottom because it sort of blended in with the picture because of the reflection of trees. The bottom part if you look closely shows a linear pattern which was intentional to leave in my photo.
